LOGIC GOLD Environment for KORG 168RC Digital Mixer by Murray Webster (c) 1998, 2000
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Release 2 - 11/08/00

1 - Fixed some bugs with FX selections.

2 - Improved my understanding of Environments and got the FX selection to automatically select the correct FX parameter descriptions. Also you can select the FX from the fader or the parameter half of the screen.

3 - The layer now accepts input and the physical 168RC faders will control logic's faders - connect the MIDI in port to where it says Midi in. Fairly well tested but I haven't really used this in anger at all.

4 - I found that the EQ preset recall feature will wipe the KORG's preset memories and you need to get the SysEx to reset - I don't use this feature anymore. The FX presets seem to work OK.

5 - Logic's reset CC's may set some of the faders or buttons to 0 - so you may need to alter Global preferences to taste.

6 - None of the fader values are calibrated to KORGS values. KORG use settings of 1-n divided up semi-arbitrarily over the full 0-127 Midi range, whereas Roland, for instance, would actually use Midi 1-n. PITA - some guesswork required unless someone can tell me how to do it without spending the rest of my life programming Transformer Maps.

7 - BTW the colour scheme is alternating Red and Yellow channel strips with Green buttons - this may change spontaneously and dramatically when you open the layer on your own system.

Good luck

Murray

Release 1 - 27/09/98

This Environment consists of 617 objects representing all of the 168RC parameters controllable by Midi Change Control messages.

The mixer should be set to Stand Alone 2 with Parameter Number 'Type 1' so that it will accept these parameters on Channels 1 to 7 and values 0 to 95 (see manual p30-31).

Most controls are self-explanatory but a word about the FX:

1. The Text faders next to the Channel FX Sends select the FX type.

2. The FX Type Text faders above the FX parameters at the bottom right of the screen do not.

3. To see what each Parameter fader refers to select all 11 Text faders and the Type. When you select the Type the fader texts will also change (beware - sometimes this can get out of sync).

4. These parameters can be set to be connected/disconnected by switches at the bottom since you may not always want these settings to be sent when you load a song or change FX Type.

All controls are routed via a monitor and then out to 1 Midi port.

Note that KORG do not indicate precise values for the Channel/Master faders.

Let me know what you think - even if you hate the colour scheme!

Best

Murray
